Former Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces, General Samora Yonus, has denied widely circulating social media rumors claiming that he has rejoined the military and is seriously ill.
The unverified claims sparked public concern, leading the media outlet Berakhe to directly contact General Samora by phone in an effort to clarify the situation and verify the accuracy of the circulating reports.During the conversation, General Samora confirmed that the rumors are entirely false. He stated that he is in good health and has not received any communication from the Ethiopian government regarding a return to military service.
General Samora Yunis served as Chief of Staff of the Ethiopian National Defense Forces until his retirement in 2018.
