President Lt. Gen. Tadesse Woreda made the remarks when he received German Ambassador to Ethiopia Jens Hanifeld at his office today.
President General Tadesse said almost 40 percent of Tigray is in the hands of invading forces. They also told Ambassador Jens Hanifeld that the federal government should withdraw these non-defense forces who are forcibly controlling the state of Tigray.
He said the federal responsibility is to return the displaced people to their homes and ensure the constitutional status of Tigray.

Ambassador Janes Hanifeld praised the plans of the Tigray Interim Administration to resolve the political crisis in Tigray. He said Germany will continue its assistance in ensuring lasting peace in Tigray and strengthening various development activities. The ambassador said there is a need to work closely together in activities that give hope to Tigray and ensure its development, the president’s office said.
